New A4: over-inflated tires?
I just picked up my new A4 cab. The ride seemed to be rather harsh over bumps. After letting the tires cool, I tested the tire pressure: 44 PSI!!! The chart inside the driver's side door says 36 PSI.
What's odd is that my car came with a tag in the trunk that reads: "For your comfort, tire pressures have been set to normal load (up to 3 occupants). If you wish to drive with a full load, inflate your tires to the pressure shown on the label on the driver's side door pillar."
This tag clearly makes no sense.
Is it typical for a new car to be delivered with over-inflated tires? I ask because the same thing happened to me three years ago when I leased a Saab.

I guess it depends on if the dealer inflated them before you took it home. My a4 is constantly warning me about tire pressure whenever the temperature outside changes. It could be that the dealer just didn't check the pressure before delivery and it's gotten warmer since they were inflated.

Hmmm...just bought my A4 (New) a few weeks ago and they said they checked the tires and "set" the TPMS. Now you got me thinking I should check mine...I'll check my tires tomorrow when I wash it and report back.
