This is the color that comes to mind when I think Audi, and it's the color I see most on the road. Having a grey sliver metallic finish on both of my current vehicles, I know it's forgiving. By same token, I'd love a change of color.
The general adage of 'don't buy a black car' looks further polarized online with this Brilliant Black though.
The mirror finish potential is fabulous, but I don't have the time to obsess on the finish maintenance on a weekly/monthly basis, and it won't be garage kept.
So I'm looking for a sanity check from you current owners out there.
Looking at the available stock, the dealers are 'all in' on BB. Out of approx. 100 A4s:
34% Brilliant Black
16% Moonlight Blue
14% Ibis White
8% Monsoon Grey
5% Scuba
4% Phantom Black Pearl
4% Dakota Silver
3% and under: Cuvee Silver, Brilliant Red, Glacier White, Ice Silver, Volcano Red
The BB percentage is way magnified for me (due to my other options preferences) to more like 70-90%. So it's Brilliant Black, or Special Order, or a looooong road trip.

Just purchased a 2014 Brilliant Black A4 and here are my thoughts. Black is my favorite color in general so I my be biased here but I think you should go for it. You do raise a good point however--I came from a gold Lexus which had great paint and I could go weeks without cleaning it and the thing just shined. My Audi, as you would expect, shows dirt an hour after you clean it and it is very visible. That could be a problem for you seeing as you don't keep it garaged but the dirtly look doesnt bother me thaf much. Ultimately, if you really can't decide, keep in mind that brilliant black is non-metallic and therefore $500 less than any metallic color...
