2012' - onwards Automatic Audi 2.0T A4 Quattro fuel consumpion
Hi All,
I need your help and feedback.
I'm From Australia and new to Euro cars and recently just purchased a 2012 (MY13) Automatic, Audi A4 Quattro 2.0T, this car has a bit over 35,000km, its Bone stock and that's how I intend to keep it as it will be my daily.
Id like to know what figures fellow owners are seeing, whilst driving.
The consumption/economy has been consistently listed by a number of sources to be:
Fuel Consumption - Extra Urban - 5.8L/100km
Fuel Consumption - Urban - 8.8L/100km
Fuel Economy - Combined - 7.0L/100km
I have only had the chance to drive the car a hand full of times and the combined average currently displayed on the instrument is anywhere between; 10L, 11.5L - 12.5L / 100km. I assume this figure could be affected by the horrendous traffic jam on a freeway recently and a couple of times of a humble-pull off the lights.
Can this figure be reset manually or does it get reset when the car is filled up???
On the live fuel consumption setting not he display in conjunction with the accelerator pedal, on very slow speed cruise with plenty of momentum, I had seen it around 9.0L/100km and sometimes off the set of lights with even the lightest acceleration I had seen it jump to 40L/100km for a few seconds. Does this seem right to you guys, and what figures are you experiencing?
My only experience with this fuel consumption data is from my wife's car, which is a Subaru XV 2013', which I believe is a 2.0 non-turbo that also has this displayed on its MMS. On that car its usually a steady 6.8L/100km average.. I don't recall on the Live data setting it had ever hit anywhere near 40L/100km
Obviously not exactly comparing apples to apples as its a car that's approx. 230kg lighter, but Its just that I am not seeing anywhere near the figures stated by reviews/ sources.
let me know your thoughts guys, any info would be appreciated.
I apologise for the metric data provided as its always confusing for me when converting to metric.
Cheers

I'm not sure I am doing the math right, but 9liters/100km is around 26mpg, which is about right. (US, not imperial, gallons.) That is about what I get around town with stop/go and usually 28-30 mpg with steady highway driving. There are two different fuel economy "screens" and both must have the average reset manually. The instantaneous is just that - it calculates on the fly. It can jump very high when coasting.
