I decided to bite the bullet, and I'm interested in a 2010 A4 Prestige with Drive Select and (hopefully) sun shades. I went to the only dealer in the area and asked them to check availabilty to have one brought in as they don't have anything locally with DS. The saleman just emailed me and told me that there are only 3 such cars in the US, none of them close to any of my color choices! Could this possibly be true or does he just want me to build the car rather than swap with another dealer? Is this that unusual a build?

This is a dumb question, but what is drive select?

 

I was told exactly the same thing last Friday by my local Audi dealer -- only three ADS cars on lots in the entire U.S. I was wanting to test drive one. He said they ordered cars with ADS when it first became available, but they didn't sell well, so it's essentially a special-order item at this point.

I understand their point, but at the same time, without having a car available to test drive, it would seem that even fewer people will get it as an option.

 

It may be overkill, but it sounds like it could have a real effect on the way the car drives.
I Guess I'll have to build it.
