Default 08 TL Type S vs A4 2T 09

Ive seen the numbers the 0-60mph on the TL goes from 5.9-6.4 (It ranges from site to site) and in the A4 its 6.1-6.5 (Again it ranges from site to site) Ive read quarter mile times from 14.0-14.5 on the TL and the A4 14.1-14.6 now not having raced before or any of that I thought you guys would know which numbers stay true the most. If and when I take him to the track the most I would do is loose the spare tire and thats about it. How do you guys think it would hold up I know mechnically he has the win. Just currious?

Guess not too many tech savy people who know numbers read it yet? Guess some one who knows a bit about both cars probably be the only one who can give me some feed back.

Any guys dyno a stock A4 to get the true numbers out of it? Or know of the true numbers?

i thought i read about stock 2.0T 1/4 mile times in the high 14s and low 15s. in a straight line it would be close but if you're on a track, you'd win. quattro would keep you planted on the road.

what are the TL numbers? i think your 2T is ~ 230 HP. audi under rates the power numbers. the 2T torque would be a big advantage in a race from a stop. the turbo would be an advantage from a roll. i've out paced big V8 trucks on the highway.

The TL best time was a 14.3 at the track. The running off a roll would that be equal to a break launch? I can hold it at about 2500RPMs and gives me a nice little kick off the line. His TL is pushing about 300HP and the mods I listed up top a Cat Back, Intake and Throttle body spacer. if im putting out low 15s then I dont think I stand a chance to keep up with him. The 2.0T would have to run me mid 14s consistently to keep me close. I have had him off the line a red light but I was just in S mode and stomp the gas.

I have read a few ways of getting a perfect launch:
1. Tip Tronic and Guide your foot through the gas.
2. S Mode stomp the gas
3. S Mode guide my foot through the gas
4. Tip Tronic and stomp the gas

Now my question do I stomp the gas, or guide my foot through and do I go Sports mode or tip tronic?

How about an 1/8 mile run? The TL has a ton of power but has to funnel it all through the front wheels. The 1/8 allows your quattro a chance to even the score a little...
Just put your car in sports mode...pretty simple, stomp and steer...

I think you might be in trouble in a drag race. TL-S has 286HP and 256 ft. lb of torque as opposed to A4 200HP and 207 ft. lb of torque so there is a sizeable deficit there. Good luck and let me know the results.

Actually, the 09 A4s have 211HP and 258ft-lb of torque. Either way, the TL is likely to walk past the A4 once up and running...I would like to see the 1/8 mile times for both cars though.
