Question who here has APR stage 2 w/ test pipe?

did you upgrade from stage 1? did you notice any difference from stock or stage 1? any dyno comparisons would be cool. what are the numbers for a 91 tune?

thanks

I honestly was not excited after my stage 1 tune. Felt like the car was at a stock level it should have been in the first place.

I did not get excited until I got the stage 2 with test pipe. Definately a difference. Mine was 93 tune.

I got real excited when I had the APR pump and stage 2+ tune. Felt like adding stage 2 all over again. Sorry no dyno numbers.

yes, i remember you said that before. if a test pipe adds ~25HP to a stock engine, i'm sure it would add more to a stage 1 tune with a few pounds more boost. good to know it will be worth it.

well well well...it's a different type of car altogether. even the fuel mileage indicator looks different with all the higher numbers. nice bolt on. worth it. before it would have to downshift to get the same pull, now it's a better pull from the same gear you're cruising in. the exhaust is also louder but not flaming ricer loud. spend the $500-600 and make this your first mod. be sure to add the OEM rev. d diverter valve before you do.

So you got it done. Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it? What did you get for a test pipe? Did you do the down pipe too? Hold on, let's see how many questions I can whack you with lol.....

Well, if it wasn't you, it would've been me asking, and you pretty much got my questions spot on. Also, did you get the carbonio intake, or any other intake? I feel like a 5 year old at a neighbor's birthday party: What'd ya get? what'd ya get?

i had the shop do it. i checked the nuts they put on and they all look good and tight. i didn't bother with the down pipe or after cat. the stock exhaust is good enough i figure. i saw one stat where an exhaust company claimed that 95% of the exhaust restriction is in the cat. the other 5% i can write off. i got the APR test pipe.

i can't wait to drive it again. the acceleration is totally new and there's no spool up turbo warp drive delay. the power is there right now. amazing. zero hesitation. she pounces like a cheetah.

haha. i'm not bothering with the intake. i saw some other stat that showed an increased air flow of 6 g/s. stock flows 205 or something and an aftermarket intake only flowed 211. the difference could be a part of the meter accuracy or test standards.

i think this is the last mod. i'm due for a new rocket soon anyway.

my wife and i took it out for a cruise and we can really tell the car is improved. the exhaust note and low end torque is amazing. the acceleration is seamless even right after a gear shift. the quattro and ESP is top shelf in keeping the car out of the ditch or against a curb. i heard the tires slip more than ever before.

Any recommendations for states that do emissions testing? Obviously can't do a test pipe, but what about a low-flo cat?
