What intercooler are you using???

lol. Ok man. You can have a well cooled maybe a hair faster than stock. Or you can have a stage 2 car with 60 - 70+ hp and will make you smile all day long. Stock IC is fine for those mods. Then when you have the cash get the side mounts you sell as supporting mods.
I am in no way knocking your product but I would just put it #4 after Chip, Test pipe (for Stage 2), Fuel pump (for Stage 2+). Then the IC will make an even bigger impact at that point. Just Sayin.

It is not my product, it is a product made by Evolution Racewerks.
Then why wouldn't it be better to have them on the car already when you get to stage 2+? Doing it after just means the power is going to be lacking till you do upgrade the SMIC's. Better to prepare then to allow the power to fall off when making too much power for the stock SMIC's.
Funny thing is that even at stock power in 40-60 degs people have seem the IAT's rise quickly just during a 1 gear pull, go thru more then 1 gear and the IAT's are just going to get worse. This is why I always tell people to do pulls thru most of all the gears to see how well the intercoolers are working. Put the car on the dyno where the air from a fan is very small vs while driving on the street and you will see the IAT's climb even quicker and take way longer to drop back down. This can be seen by doing back to back runs on the dyno with zero cooling time. When I do this with my car my IAT's dont rise at all even after doing 5+ runs back to back and this means I have no hp loss when pulling thru the gears for a long period of time.

here's a 320 HP 2.0T w/ a bigger turbo..

the article mentions that the stock intercooler is fine and there's no need to upgrade it.

Doesn't change compare to what? Are they saying they dont change from a 1 gear pull or that they dont change over the period of 8-10 laps because the SMIC's are already completely heat soaked before the end of the first lap?
It has already been showing by actual A4 2.0t owners that the IAT's doint hold steady.
Now go find someone with stock the stock SMIC's with a K04 setup and ask them to show vagcom logs of the IAT's on block 004.

3" increase could be anything. It is not telling you how high the IAT's are above ambient and it doesn't say how high the IAT's are climbing in the rpms. It could mean that by the time they had done 10 laps the IAT's were only 3 degs higher then with the stock turbo which has already been shown that it cant keep the IAT's flat even in 40-60 deg temps.
