Default Valentine 1 Hardwire Pic Request

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to hardwire my V1 into my 08 Avant. Has anyone done this before and got pics or a DIY of it?

From my understanding, the best place to mount the detector at a level place on the rear deck of a sedan. Any avant owners got an interesting install to get around the fact that we don't have a rear deck?

Thanks in Advance

I have never done a Valentine, but I have done many other hard wire installs. I did one yesterday for Superman06 and it turned out great. I think he was very happy with it.
A quick trip to google turned up many examples of hard wire installs.

Mount high, gives you the best range of detection. High, right below the windshield tint. You can see through other cars windshields and it has the best angle for rear-based attacks.

I don't have any pictures of my install, but it's quite easy. Just ground it and then hook up the power wire to anything that comes up on ignition with your car.

Not sure what you mean about mounting on the rear deck? Mine is sitting to the right of my rear-view mirror. Just below the tint strip. It hides it a bit more from the outside and gives it a great front and rear site. Mount there with the suction cup holder and then route the wire up between your windshield and head liner...

I have my v1 jsut below the windshielf tint on the passenger side that way its high up and still has a straight shot through the back window for superior detection. Then i also ran a customised concealed display by the steering wheel so i dont really have to take my eyes off the road... (the concealed display can be bought off ebay). As Far as installing it. Run the wire along the windshield down the driver side pilar into the fuse box. Tap into a fuse for power and use the screw on the bare metal for a ground. (or you can tap into the accessory wire and ground wire behind the head unit.

or you can do the simple easy way by tapping into the moonroof. here is the DIY:

hope this helps.
