Default Timing belt service

OK my car has a chirp coming from the timing area. The Dealer recommend a timing belt service. I need to know if its recommended to replace the tensioner in addition to the other parts. Dealer quote me 1300k. My Indy quote me 1088k. By the way indy is Kelly Moss MotorSports racing.

So quick follow up. I think the question has been answered by Kelly Moss. They would be doing a kit, which includes the tensioner.

A timing belt service includes a new belt, pulley's, tensioner, guides, and water pump. My dealer charged about $1100 or so. They have to pull the front of the car off to get to the parts, so that's why it's so expensive.

Also, for those having it done under warranty, they only use the belt (and it's labor) and charge you for everything else. It ends up being almost as much as a dealer would charge out of warranty. My AudiCare that I bought in '07 on an '06 car came with the service that covered the belt. They extended the mileage that the belt need to be changed but grandfathered in anyone with that warranty (and sent a letter stating it). The stealerships have fought me on that and insist that it was NOT covered, until I show them the letter. Till this day if I walk into an Audi dealership they tell me that I'm wrong, great way that Audi informs dealerships of it's warranty requirements...so if you had that AudiCare you're still covered, depending on your mileage.

Yea i was little surprised the warranty was over so fast on the CPO. It had 10k left on it and the CPO was suppose to take it to 100k. So it was explained. But clearly that's not the case. i have 83k and I bought it nearly four years ago.

Anyway, Kelly Moss Motorsport/ Level 5 took care of it. Came in about 300 less than the dealers. They are on the only ones i truly trust to do work.

I bought the same maintenance plan up to 75K but never got a letter in the mail. So at 115K are you able to bring it to Audi and get the timing belt done?
