You can do a couple of things.
1) Install a non fouler O2 sensor after the cat converter, these sometimes don't work all the time.
2) Some people use two spark plug non foulers. They drill out the end larger so the O2 sensor will fit, screw in another non fouler into that to space it out farther and install the O2 sensor. The idea here is to reduce the amount of hydro carbons sensed by the O2 sensor. This also isn't a 100% full proof fix, but some people have claimed getting 500+ miles without getting a check engine light.
3) Some chip software can eliminate the use of the rear O2 sensor, keeping the check engine light from coming on at all. Im not sure if they are picky about state and local laws or not with that.
