Default Switching ECU upgrade

Is it possible to switch an apr ecu upgrade between two cars? I heard that it can be done for a fee.

You have to get your car programmed at a shop. Or take out the ECU and send it to APR, who will program it and return it to you.

APR will let you unload the software and load it to another car. The APR dealer servicing you will surely charge you a fee. Possibly 1 for each car. I am unsure of other brands. APR will also take your ECU's my mail as well if you want to go that route.

If you can't wait for an answer Creamy then call the company direct and ask. Not everbody monitors the board all the time and this not a usual question either.

If its a stand alone ECM you need to make it work with the immobilizer. It has to read the VIN from the ECM.

If its a piggy-back and just changes the parameters for fuel trim and spark, load... etc then immobilizer is not needed. And you should be able to plug and play.

As for switching from one car to another. If its a piggy back, You should be fine aslong as the cars are the same, Cause connectors and pin configuration is subject to change from year to year and engine to engine.

I don't know APR, I'm not an expert in performance but i am a Dealer Master Tech and the info i gave is based on my understanding of the brand
