Streaming BT

Streaming BT
Hi all. Just picked up a 2008, 2.0T, Special Edition, Quattro A4 last week. 68K miles and in absolutely perfect condition. Stereo is Symphany 10-speaker with 6 disc changer, Sirius and Phone BT compatible. Inside the center arm rest is the cradle base to add a phone cradle (looks old school) and inside the glove box is what looks to be an Ipod plug.
That said I managed to easily hook up the phone to work as a phone (Iphone 6). I get in the car with BT activated on the phone, the car recognizes and auto-connects and the Mode button on the wheel works perfectly. No issues there. Few questions:
1. Is there a way to stream audio using this BT connection? Right now I can only get the phone to work as a BT function - not music. Cannot stream music or at least havent figured out how.
2. What type of plug is actually in the glove box? Is it an older style Ipod plug like the old ones used? The size of the walls that surround the plug is super narrow and I cannot get my Iphone plug adaptor in there (large hands) and the phone wont fit in that little cave. Is that plug the way to use my phone if I get a short wire adaptor?
Any help is appreciated.

2. Probably a 30-pin iPod connector, but I've never seen one, so I have no idea. Maybe Audi had a dongle for it? Someone else will have to chime in there.

it is an old 30 pin connector. it might not fit iphones, but mine came with 4-5 different adapters to hold the different shapes of ipods back then. to use that connector, press 'CD' once or twice, depending on where you start, until it says cd 7-12. 7-11 will be playlists from the ipod and 12 will be the whole music library. steering wheel controls should be able to scroll thru songs. i dont have an ipod, but i use a 3.5mm to 30pin cable to use my phone in a dock.

I was able to get an old ipod to plug into the plug in the box and get it to play. But the connection port on the ipod or the plug is worn and it did not have a great contact. Was going in and out. Maybe Ill get something in the future to fix it. For now it is CD and Sirius.
