Stage 2+ Tune vs K04 Upgrade??
I have a 2007 A4 2.0T with Multitronic Transmission
The car has sport mufflers, test pipe and Stage 2 software
I believe it has about 260hp right now
I was told that if I get a High Pressure Fuel Pump, I can get the Stage 2+ software which I am told will get the car to about 290-300hp
KMD fuel pump + stage 2+ upgrade will cost me about 500$
On the other hand, the K04 upgrade costs about $4000 and gets the car to about 310-320hp. Is that 20-30hp worth the extra money that I will be spending? I also don't want to risk anything since people tell me that the Multitronic transmission may fail with the K04 upgrade
BTW, would the PCV and Diverter valve add any power? should I get those too?

i recently heard from a good source that the stage 2+ only provides about 5 extra peak HP compared with the stage 2. plus then you would have to worry about getting the new fuel manifold. if the K04 can get 310-320 HP to the wheels, that's a great mod.

I think K03 upgrade is 310-320 hp on the flywheel, not on the wheels...
The Stage 2+ upgrade should give more than 5hp since it pushed about 0.3 psi more boost. That is definitely a minimum 20hp extra...

The Stage 2+ will get arount 285. You will also get bigger increases in the lower RPM HP as well. I would start with a stage 2+ upgrade and see if you are satisfied.
The K04 is obviously a way better choice if you have the money to spend, I never had that kinda dough for my cars though. As far as tranny handling it, your tranny can blow stock. Your milage may vary as always.

check out post #4 in this thread. it's actually a pressure relief valve on the fuel rail that needs upgrading.

yeah i just checked the email again and 5 peak HP and 10 under the curve. for TQ, 5 as well. not as much as i thought. maybe the stock injectors are peaked out with a higher flowing fuel pump.
edit: lol, these cars don't even have injectors. right?

we definitely have injectors.
your argument shouldnt be stage 2+ vs. K04.
youre going to need an upgraded HPFP for K04 and larger turbos anyway. so you either upgrade the pump and pay a shop ~$30 to flash you to stage 2+, wait, see how you like it.. and then if you decide you want more power, you buy a turbo kit minus the hpfp.
apr's k04 kit is $4,599....but $3,999 if you already have an upgraded pump.
and if youre going to put that much money into a turbo upgrade you might as well get a bigger one than a k04

I would go bigger than K04 but people tell me that the multitronic transmission won't hold up and might break
If I were sure that the tranny will hold up fine, I would even go with a GT30R no problem...
