If I was using the cheapest products out, I would be worried about the reliability of them. And also, as I said and as you just said...that will only put you in the 285 chp range...not 300 chp.

where are you getting a $300 fuel pump upgrade?
KMD and Autotech are the cheapest I know, and they both run around ~$350 for just the internals. From everything I have read about upgrading fuel pumps, this is one of the areas that you need to be very careful with, as anything as little as a dog hair that gets into the pump while you are putting the internals in can ruin it.

You own a luxory sedan, not a honda civic. You want reliable HP? spend the money to get the parts from the companies with the best reputation, feedback, and customer service.
To each their own. I am just saying it can be done. I personally would have APR (and did) rebuild a pump for me in their clean room. I have seen deals on KMD and autotech for just over $300 but again its personal preference here. I have seen guys run fine on those pumps too. I like to be safer than sorry though. 285 can be done for the 1200 though so don't say it is not possible.

Maybe it's a little more expensive than a chip but I'm thinking I could really enjoy this.
Thats just retarded. For $33,000 DOLLARS I will damn sure not be upgrading an a4. YOu were the one bitching in another thread when I suggested just a stage 1 chip for a 2.0t. 3.2's are just not able to compete. That is insane.

i'm with 2WD on this. you can get an extra 80 crank HP and 100+ lb-ft with little over $1000-which includes the labor for the test pipe install. that's what it cost me. for another $1000, i can get an APR fuel pump to bump the power over 300 but the best value is the stage 2+.
