I was pretty clear on how it is done. I have done it. I am not the only one who has done it. Most GTI owners follow the same path and there are plenty of examples out there. Do the math. This crank HP not at the wheels. Turbo's make power. You have the recipe, follow it.

Oh and the HP at the crank will probably be closer to 280hp. Intake and complete full exhaust may net you a few more but again my list was on the cheap. Here is a Unitronic (Very reputible company) Dyno.

Bottom line is Chips can be as cheap as $500 (REVO on sale), Fuel pumps as low as $300 if not APR brand, and labor for the Test pipe, PCV and DV should be free. FP is also easy if you follow instructions well as it is easy to get to. Those are basic mechanical changes that any novice can do. This 285 hp range can be met for under $1200 easily. Why fight the truth?

Seems like a lot of work for little gain. What about the 650HP stage 3 kit for my 3.2 - JBS TS 650, 3.2 24V V6 Stage 3 Turbo Kit for the Golf R32 - JBS
Maybe it's a little more expensive than a chip but I'm thinking I could really enjoy this.

If I was using the cheapest products out, I would be worried about the reliability of them. And also, as I said and as you just said...that will only put you in the 285 chp range...not 300 chp.
where are you getting a $300 fuel pump upgrade?
KMD and Autotech are the cheapest I know, and they both run around ~$350 for just the internals. From everything I have read about upgrading fuel pumps, this is one of the areas that you need to be very careful with, as anything as little as a dog hair that gets into the pump while you are putting the internals in can ruin it.
You own a luxory sedan, not a honda civic. You want reliable HP? spend the money to get the parts from the companies with the best reputation, feedback, and customer service.

you just posted a ~$33,000 turbo kit that will bring you to 650 hp. stock 3.2 is about 250hp..so youre spending $33,000 for 400hp or $82 per HP. which one seems like more work for little gain?
Ill stick with a $6,000 turbo kit for my 2.0 that will bring me around 400whp.
