Default Removing the govenor

I have spent the last three years driving in Germany and would like to go faster than 134MPH. I have a 05.5 3.2l Quattro. They want over $2000 here to remove the governor and tune the engine. There program won't just remove the governor. The tuning will only give me an increase of 10HP. I don't want to spend that much for 10Horses. All I want is a way to remove the governor. Any ideas or some place I can get the progam. That way I can do it myself without spending an arm and a leg.

It's hard to get much more power out of a normally aspirated engine. But I got APR for 2.0T for $800 (after tax) and that included speed governor removal, so it definitely shouldn't cost $2000.

don't bother tuning the engine, with N/A cars you should dump the cat, free up the intake, and look into headers becuz those bolt ons will add around 50-60 and they are all more affordable then 2,000 dollars

as far as removing the gov'nor thats somehting thats laced into the ECU system itself, unless you know exactly how to hack it and reprogram everything i would suggest to keep on looking around for other mechanics who can help you out

you can get a chip, some companies offer programs for the v6. A chip will remove the governor
