Default Rear window distortion from tint

I just got my windows tinted (Formula One Pinnacle) and have noticed that the rear window is now somewhat distorted when looking through my rearview mirror. This is especially true at night when the car headlights bounce off each of the defogger lines. Anyone else have this problem?

i haven't had this problem and have had my windows tinted for about a month now... the only thing i could think of that could cause this is either a bad tint job or bad film...

prolly a thick film is causing the distortion, i don;t see how an installation of tint would cause a distortion but if its a very thick film its very possible that the light from the head lights of the car behind you is having a harder time getting through the tint

Well, I went to the tint shop today, and the guy looked at it and admitted that it looked grainy in the back window, so I'm bringing it back in tomorrow to have it redone. Hopefully, it will look better. This is the place that my dealership uses, so they should do a good job.

harry, which brand of tint do you have?

Mine are fine, I had them tinted in June. When you say "distorted" what do you mean? Can you take a clear picture of it so we can see? I know when I look at car windows wearing my polarized Oakleys I see "rainbow" patterns of distortion but that is caused from the light and the tint inside the factory glass. If they used polarized or metallic tint that could be what you are seeing. It would be more obvious at night when other headlights shine through the tint.

i can't remember exactly what type of film the guy said he used on my car, but i remember him telling me the name and saying it was good quality film and i went and checked it out online later on and it was supposed to be really good quality... if you really want i suppose i could call him and ask
