Default Radiator Fan Replacement DIY

Is there a DIY or instructions for replacement the radiator fans?

My wife has a 2007 A4 2.0T Automatic

I need to replace both radiator fans along with the control unit. The control unit is easy, but I'd like to get the radiator fans out without having to pull apart half the front end if possible.

Thanks!

Good luck. When replacing the timing belt, which sits right behind the fans, the whole front of the car has to be taken apart. Don't know if it's that bad with the fans.

Actually, it looks like it wouldn't be that difficult if I place the front in the service position. Should give me all the room I need, but I can't seem to find any information on how to do that.

I guess I should invest in a Bentley manual in the near future.

According to the dealer, service position refers to removing the grill/bumper and radiator, which is what is done to get to the timing belt. Is that what you're refering to?

Yeah, although you don't have to remove the radiator. I got a copy of ElsaWin last night and looked up the procedure for replacing the fans.

Looks simple enough once you get the bumper off.
