Question on painting the calipers
Hi, Im new to this forum and bought an 08 Audi A4 S package and was wondering what is the best way to paint the calipers.
Would you guys recommend using spray paint or hand painting them? and Would I need to use clear coating. thanks for any inputs

both are the same, just make sure you get a good kit if you will paint by hand. Strangely enough, my b7 calipers when I painted them did not come out as bright as my old b5 ones...not sure if paint had anything to do with it.
make sure you just clean the calipers and prep them before you paint.

I had mine powdercoated - they look fantastic. I caught a lot of garbage on forums for the price (750) but thats the brakes I guess hahaha. If you do paint them, take the time to either paint around the clips and various pieces that are not the actual caliper - makes it look half-asses when I see that. Sometimes it look like someone did it with a 4inch house painter brush... details, my friend, make all the difference.

The spray does not leave a "smooth" finish you can still see the texture of the metal. The brush on type is much thicker and will give it the "smooth" Brembo look. I recently did mine in black and I just ordered a second paint set to go over them again so that they look perfect.
