quick intro and background information
my car is a 2005.5 2.0 a4 quattro with about 80,000 miles and the car is stock

recently i was told by audi that one of the pistons was SLIGHTLY misfiring, but other then that the car was running smoothly (i brought it in because it would shake whenever it would idle)

fast forward a few weeks, and as im driving i feel a "bump" as the car changes gears

its been about 2 weeks since then and now i cant rev the car like i used to. like its REALLY slow to get up to 3 and 4000 rpms

i did a quick search here and found some people with similar issues but with a few mixed results. any help is appreciated

 

When was the last time you had a tuneup?

Did the audi mechanic do a compression test?

 

Not sure if the bump you felt and the performance issue are related. Almost sounds like you dropped a cylinder and instead of a four cylinder you now have a three cylinder engine. Has your CEL (check engine light) come on? Coils are a known issue and if one went bad that could be your issue. Might want to have your codes read (Autozone does it for free).

 

the check engine light came on about 2 days ago, but then it was off when I started the car yesterday morning and has not come on since.

Ill give autozone a call today and ask about having my codes read
