New Exhaust, need help
My wife want's the car to have a "throaty" sound to it... a little deeper but not like those little remote control honda civics driving around... actually, very far from that. But really, like a muscle car with a throaty exhaust - or as close as possible... Can anyone recommend anything?
Thanks

flowmaster super 40's hahaha great growl for the buck haha
no matter what exhaust you won't get a tinny rattly sound coming from the car....an aftermarket exhaust only makes the engine sound louder....naturally a dohc 4 cylender engine makes that buzzing exhaust sound and the vtech that allows it to rev past 8 grand doesn't help the honda civic out at all
an upgraded exhaust will make ur car louder and ....er throatier because of the way the engine's down pipes feed into the car....for example the subaru wrx sti has a boxer engine (meaning the pistons face opposite ways horizontally ....think BMW motorcycle) so the up pipe that feeds the exhaust to the turbo is shorter for the first 2 pistons and longer in the last 2 pistons creating a longer distance for half of the exhaust to run to making the car have a very unique and deep sound to it
granted each exhaust will alter the sound differently but not by much...it really depends on how the motor and exhaust is set up

Okay, to be honest with you, I really hate that high-pitched exhaust sound that sounds like a radio controlled airplane driving by... You know, that garbage that those kids put on their little hondas? In fact, I think it's cute when they pull up and wanna go... I'll get 'em off the line, smoke em, but taper off around the speed limit - just to tease em and let them know who's daddy.
Yes, I'm all stock.

ahhh nvm its confusing and hard to expalin but basically you can;t go wrong any exhuast that u put on won't give u that nasty BRAAAAAAAANNGGGGG sound because of how the audi engine differs from a honda's
any muffler from magnaflow or greddy stasis and neuspeed is going to be fine
stay away from silencers (mufflers that use fiberglass to muffle the sound versus traditon mufflers that manuever the exhaust gas in ways that reduces sound)
also just because its a cat back doesn;t mean ur gonna get that annoying tinny ricer sound....it just means the eaxhaust kit bolts on from where the catalytic converter ends
