Miles Per Gallon record?
(2.0T - Automatic)
Achieved this today on the drive home from work (40mile commute).
I hovered around ~40mpg for a good 5 minutes after that, and got home reading 38.8mpg.
Wondering if I can squeeze out any more?

Best I've gotten in my 07 A4 was 32.2 MPG HAND CALCULATED coming back from the Oregon coast at 76 MPH. Going by the readout gives you an idea but its always a little off. I've noticed when the temperature is in the 70 degree F range is when I get the best mileage. Anything hotter the turbo gets heat soaked and I lose power, anything colder it just won't get as good MPG's.

neal, thats his average mpg so its pretty impressive. the 'real time' mpg tops out at 200 and then goes blank, this always happens when coasting or going down hill.
i think my best avg is 32 or 33. of course on a cool night with no a/c and cruise control at low speeds. there is definitely an optimal temp. range but sadly its a very short season

Yea,for a short trip that is VERY GOOD!
I regularly get 26-28MPG per tank full with a mix of 80%highway,20%city driving.
Wintertime that drops to 22-24 with an oxygenated fuel blend that's offered in Northern Ohio.
With a little leadfoot mixed in.....LOL

Haha, drive it like ya stole it!
I couldn't take it anymore, and floored it on the (empty) freeway last night, reached ~110mph quite quickly, felt like I was going 70.
Gotta burn the carbon buildup off the valves right?
