Default Looking For Your Audi Opinions

Hi,

I am currently looking into Audi A4's as a potential "new" car. I am looking at certified pre-owned models (preferably 06-08) and was just wondering if anyone could offer me some advice and/or opinions. Also, how is your audi treating you?! Is your car in the shop a lot? Are you satisfied with your car? Thoughts on the 3.2 vs 2.0T. Do you drive manual or automatic? Any information you have regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully sometime in the near future I can begin posting on here as an audi owner!

Thanks in advance for your advice/opinions.

Hey there, welcome to the forum. I was also undecided between the 2.0T and the 3.2 and I test drove both models and it came down to better fuel economy basically. No regrets about getting it either since it is the best engine in its class. Plus the 2.0T engine can be chipped and modified for up to 300 WHP with the stock turbo. But I think it's fantastic stock.

I love my Audi. It's never been in the shop other than for the oil changes and scheduled maintenance. I change the oil every 5000 miles. I'm liberal with the oil when it comes to turbo engines. The quality, power delivery, suspension, handling, looks, engine, brakes, transmission, quattro and all the small little bonuses that come with the car are second to none. It's a smartly designed car. I have the auto w/ tiptronic and it's smooth. I don't care for standard transmissions any more due to the heavy traffic conditions I see.

Some people just look at the prices and cheap out by getting a Japanese car but after you experience an Audi you'll realise that the extra bit of money is well spent. Some cars started from the economy class and worked their way up. Audi, with the rich racing heritage and victories it has, started from the top and worked down. You can notice that difference in every turn and every time you hit the gas. I've never even come close to testing the limits of my car. With every other car I've owned or driven, you know its limits very quickly.

Most folks get the 2.0T, for reasons said above by esandes. And they are quality cars. I have no regrets about purchasing mine.

How much do you pay for oil changes and scheduled maintenance?

I forgot to mention the safety of these cars is second to none. I pay $80 for the unscheduled oil changes at the dealership too. The scheduled ones are free. I change the oil every 5000 miles.

I love my A4 looks wise especially since I slapped on some S4 18's. Performance wise you will definately need a chip or consider the A3. A3 is quite lighter and if you get an Auto the A3 has the DSG which is marvelous. I consider the CVT auto in the A4 to be a power robbing slush box.

As far as reliability, I have had no issues and mine is a CPO car which I consider a must because they can be expensive. You can't beat a 100k warranty.

Engine. Definately 2.0t for gas milage and potential power once you get the chip.
