Just got the FP cam letter
My kid just got the Audi FP cam warranty letter from Audi. It extends the warranty for this issue to 120,000 miles . So hopefully we don't get the failure but if we do it will be covered. 2007 A4.

Just got my letter as well. Honestly, I was skeptical of whether it was true or not until people started reporting getting the letters. This was the one thing that was somewhat on my mind because I really didn't want to pull my HPFP off to change it. Thanks, Audi!

Any chance one of you could post a scan of the letter (blcok out information you do not want to share)? I know my 2008 isn't in the program, but if aomething does happen I would like to be able to point back to what you all are getting.
Sounds like this issue appears enough that Audi need to address, but not enough for an out right recall. Of all the items with these cars it is the follower that I read the most about.

Definatly see about getting this letter though. I need to check with the AAFES military sales here to see how/when we will get a letter!

Do you have the A4 B8 2.0T model? If not your engine (2.0T FSI BWT) could be effected as well. The 2007/2008 B7's both have the same revised engine (BWT) that addressed the cam follower issue with a harden cam and follower. While failures for 2007, 2008's models are not as common as the 2004-2006 BGP engines you should still keep an eye on the cam follower. From what I have read only around 12% of all 2.0t's were effective by this issue. Audi here checked mine and said it was fine at 42tmls. The German Audi tech said he had only seen a couple fail (1 2006 A6 & 1 2005 A4) both had in excess of 120tmls on them.

Got mine too yesterday (2007 A4). Great job Audi, putting the truth back in engineering :-)
Me thinks Audi may do something like this for the carbon build up issue as well,
if it gets enough attention like the CAM issue (I'm not affected so far by this though).
