Default Flutter noise when coasting 06, 2.0T Quattro

Ok, I am new to this forum, but came hear with a serious question. I have an 06 A4 2.0T Quattro. Just this evening, I got a weird clunk and then developed a fluttering sound when coasting?

Accelerate and the sound goes way. move my manual transmission to neutral and coast again and the sound comes back. Still hear it when breaking? I only have 30k on this car and just had the oil changed last week.

Visual inspection from what I could see showed no damage like if I hit something when driving.

I am going to get it checked out tomorrow, but wanted to know if someone had heard of such a thing?

Thanks for any input.

Default Update from the Service Center

As mentioned, took my car in and my shop was able to fit me in for a diagnostic evaluation of my issue.

They have confirmed that it's in the drive train, and have scheduled me in to pull the transmission to see what's going on inside They will have the car for a few days so I will update once I know what they find.

Just for further information the flutter only happened when coasting, sort of reminded me of the old playing card in the bicycle spoke sound but muffled.

Default Back in action!!!

After 10 days in the shop and a sweet 2008 A6 S-line loaner and a couple of unexpected parts that needed to be ordered from Germany, I have a newly built transmission, they also tweaked the Differential and output shaft. The best part of all it cost me nothing!!!

Got to love Audi Certified pre owned. So I have to give a shout out to my dealer for doing such a good gob, Thanks Lewis Motors Audi! If anyone wants the full run down on the parts replaced just let me know.

Just curious how they tweeked it? Did they put it back within spec or really did something? Good post with a happy ending! I see vw is one of the few automakers with positive sales...taking care of customers has a lot to do with that imo.
