yea emil also said to start the car and see if that matters since it should give it more power then. i didnt have the keys in the ignition when i tried cuz i didnt wanna get shocked or blow a fuse while switching the bulbs but that sounds kinda stupid now that i think about it lol
my glovebox is also messed up, with one broken hinge. its the right side hinge that controls the light. if you pry down the part thats not connected to the door, you should be able to make the light turn on. there is a DIY fix that ima try this summer (putting metal rods in the hinge and door)
i watched a youtube video for another brand and they said that the festoon type bulbs actually have a polarity so ill try flipping em around too.
i was thinking about the diff. options cuz emil said it might be a CANBUS issue and i thought the diff. options had a slightly diff. system or settings.
thanks for the feedback thou

Ha! Mine is broke on the right hand side too! That totally makes sense then, thanks for putting that curiosity to rest; I'll have to give it a try later to see if I can get it to light up I saw the DIY too, but it looks like quite a bit of hassle- at least more hassle than I have time for these days so I've accepted the fact that it's broken and I'll just have to deal with it for a while and maybe someday I'll just buy a whole new one with the damper attachment that is supposed to keep that cheap *** hinge from breaking again- last I checked its only like, $225 OEM from the dealer with the damper kit as well for the whole new door, and installing it couldn't be that hard so when I'm done making her move faster, then I'll refocus on fine tuning little visual things like that. But yea, give it a shot with the key turned so they get the full feed of power, and try the reversal in case of polarity finickiness

yea i didnt realize it when i bought the car but it was always broke. i think ill try the DIY this summer. i cant justify spending that much a glovebox door right now, rather have some new headlights or tires or something more 'productive'

Yea, mine was broke when I bought it too; used that to help weasel the price down a bit But I know what you mean about justifying the cost of a whole new door, that's why mine is waiting- cause its not such an inconvenience that I can't deal with it til all my other goals are had and I just have minor things like that to attend to; been putting off a new windshield for the same reason haha. I just don't have the time to try dicking with it. That DIY looked like a pain, plus a lot of wait time for epoxy to dry and such and I just don't have time- I'll be lucky if I get some fresh enamel on my calipers in time for Wuste in June o.O Fortunately most everything else I want to accomplish can be attended to by someone else, so its just a matter of getting a ride to work when I go to have it done IE tuning and HPFP upgrade (fuel pumps scare me; they're way too sensitive for me to want to risk touching with my inexperienced hands. I can wrench pretty much anything else; but the tight tolerances of the HPFP well beyond justifies the cost of having someone else that knows what they're doing do that) and the only other thing after that is getting my other set of wheels powder coated, which doesn't tax my time significantly so my near future upgrades shouldn't be too big of a pain
