Extended warranty advice?

Extended warranty advice?
I have a 2006 A4 with 31K miles and my 2 year CPO warranty is about to start. I got an email offering a more extensive warranty ranging from $1800 for 2 years - $4400 for 6 years. I know repairs can be crazy expensive so I was wondering what other people recommend in my situation. Thanks.

CPO covers you up to 100k miles and possibly less depending on in service date or purshasing some how. I called the dealed and had them look up my vin. I am covered CPO up to 3 / 11 and i'm at 80k now so Trade in will be coming next spring for me.
Audi offers a fine warranty and I think it would be a waste to buy anything more. Just check your Cam follower every 30k and make sure you coild are done u der the recall and you will be fine,

Agree with Blazer - make sure your warranty is about to expire. CPO warranty has month and mileage limits. At only 31K miles, sounds like you're running out of months.
I would consider an extended warranty, though I'm not sure if $1,800 for 2 years is a good deal. $4k for 6 yrs sounds pretty good if the coverage is good.
Before my 2008 CPO A4, I had a 2003 VW Passat W8, and getting extended warranty on that thing was one of the luckiest things I ever did. I got a 4 yr/40K mile warranty from date of purchase of the warranty for $2,400. They paid out $8,500! in repairs for cam adjuster replacement and something else I've forgotten about. And on top of that, when I traded the car in, they paid me for $900! the equity I had left in the warranty. In the end, I got $8.5K of repairs for $1,500. Amazing. Of course, it was a good deal for them to pay me to get out of the remaining 2 yrs I had on the warranty. The Passat W8 is a very sweet ride (little heavy), but redonkulously expensive to work on.
My advice would be -- if you do get an extended warranty, get it FROM YOUR AUDI DEALER. That should ensure it's a good comapny. Granted, it'll be a 3rd party company, not an Audi Copr. warranty, but if the Audi dealer sales it, it should be a reputable company.
I got the extended warranty on my W8 from a VW dealer, and the company was Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc. Google shows some complaints about them, but they sure treated me right.

I extended my warranty at 49,680mi, I did the 4 year platinum extension for 4200 dollars (there are ranges of coverage, I chose the highest). The dealership didn't try to push it on me, I actually called them to inquire since I picked up the car with 48k miles on it. She said "Everyone worries, oh the engine the engine. In reality if something shorts out, or goes wrong behind the dash board, pulling that out to replace something is an $1800 job, not including parts." I feel confident in paying for the 4 years of worry free driving. It covers everything except spark plugs, oil changes, tire rotation, and weather stripping.
