engine start problem
I have a 2005 a4 avant 2.0t fsi s line and i have a problem!
The car refuses to start at all, was intermittant but now its a constant issue. The engine does one sluggish turn and them it seems like the battery is dead but all of the dash, exterior and interior lights work no problem. I changed the plugs and have ensured the terminals are ok. Any help will be greatly appreciated as i'm supposed to be driving to a wedding in France in about 48hrs!

Have you actually load-tested the battery? Most auto parts stores here will do that for free. They can often die off just enough that they aren't capable of cranking the starter, but can still power simple accessories. Other than that, I dunno. I'm not an expert about crazy electrical issues.

tried the battery and its holding a charge for the limited time i tested it for, i think you might be right as the radio was not functioning when the engine was off but other electrics were working. I am leaving the car over night and hopefully it will just be the bat ran down in themorning.
Cheers for the reply!

Engine won't start up until the 2nd or 3rd start during a cold start (ie. the mornings or after a long period of being off).I haven't checked for anything yet, so I am looking for a suggestion on where to begin (temp sensor, fuel pump, starter?).It seems as if its some kind of problem with a temp sensor since it only happens on cold starts, but it works fine when engine is warm.
