King: We live 4 blocks from a huge Shell Truck stop...We always fill up there... They always have Fuel Trucks off-loading... Hopefully fresh Shell Fuel... Who really knows were the fuel comes from... Yes we have talked about the Turbo Cool Down... I'm really having second thoughts about keeping this A4 for 5 more yrs... I really don't trust it taking her to and from college.

 

What is the cool down process for a turbo? I know the warm up process but I've never been informed of cooling the car down or anything...

 

On any turbo motor, and ESPECIALLY after pushing it really hard, but after normal driving too, you need to let the various parts get their temps to something of an equilibrium; most people just take the habit of letting the car idle for at least 30 seconds or more before shutting it off, or you can get a turbo timer, which as I understand it (only been in the turbo scene for about a week now haha so my facts might be a little off) is a device that automatically keeps the engine running until a certain temperature is reached.

 

Sir, if you take care of the car it will take care of you! I dont know about everyone else I have noticed a difference on the way my car runs with shell gas compared to other brands, but thats just me!
