Dash display not appearing after jumpstart
... so something went horribly wrong when jumpstarting my 06 A4 this afternoon... I'm suspecting some type of power surge and now the display that's in the center of the instrument cluster doesn't show up. Also, the remote for unlocking/locking/trunk doesn't work at this point following the jump.
I'm hoping it's just a blown fuse, but haven't had time to check it out yet. The car drives and functions as it should, just without the display. Has this happened to anyone else in this forum? If so where should I start and what might be the potential hit to the bank account??
Apologies if this has already been addressed, and thanks in advance for the help!

Did you try using the stalk to turn the display on? Wondering if the jumpstart somehow switched it to the off mode. Does anything appear there when starting the car? If so then it may just be turned off. Doubt you blew the dash, although it could be possible. Check for a bad fuse. The remote probably just needs to be reprogrammed. The procedure is out here somewhere.

thanks for the suggestion! that got me thinking that maybe a quick reset/re-sync was what we needed to do. My mind definitely was in worse case scenario on this!
Got in touch with an Audi tech and got the info of how to do this and now the display works and the remote functions work as well...
"Use it to start the car. Then turn off the car and within 10 seconds press the unlock key on your key fob." This trick kicked everything back on. Brilliant!
Additionally, had the systems checked over by the local shop just for good measure and looks like the only module that was affected was the one which signals an alert when the seatbelt isn't in when the car is started and when the fuel is low. So, really, not too bad.
