car seems sluggish all of sudden- what could it be?
Recently I noticed when accelerating it isn't as quick/peppy as normal. I'm having to drop it to "S" and put my foot into it to get going from stop lights. What could this be? Just crossed 41,000 miles fwiw.

Diverter, PCV valve, Ignition Coils (Currently on recall but there would be some sort of miss) Actuall my car felt super sluggish whenbeating on it to show it to a friend but was not missing. The next day it started missing bad so it could be an early coil problem.
Diverter Valve is usually the main culpret. The older style valves depending on month and year of car are made with a diaphram inside to releave pressure and they tear very easily abd more so if any extra power is added to the car. There is a newer version that uses a piston instead of a diaphram and is as strong and better than aftermarket ones. The stock revision "D" is also maintainance free unlike aftermarket ones as well.
Make the following purchases now and do yourself a favor.
Buy a new DV revision "D". $79.95 shipped from ECS http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Dive...alve/ES263879/
Buy a BSH PCV Fix. $99.99 Better than any stock revision or any other aftermarket PCV. http://www.bshspeedshop.com/store/pr...7&cat=0&page=1
Take your car in to your dealer and get your Ignition coil recall done.
I would put money down that one of these is your problem. Also every product I have listed is one that will fail on you eventually if not already. I have used all of these products and any person who has never even popped their hood can install these. This will probably fix it and save you all hassles that are common on these cars.
All 3 of these should be done to every 2.0t owner.

2. You can but it will cost more.
3. Yes there is an update but they are known to fail as well. No stock gauranteed solution. The BSH solution would gaurantee a bulletproof solution for the life of the car.
Make your own choices, I know what I have done and only can give advice. I am heavy in the GTI community and they use they same engine and solutions. There is 1000 times more traffic and help over there so it's easy learning.

1. Not in all cases. Probably only on a coil and only if it is bad.
