Default Still No Solution

My dealer has exhausted his resources & given up!

No one can tell me what this warning light indicates.

Has not come back on in over 6 weeks & all is working OK.

Hard to believe a company with Audi's fine reputation can leave its customers up in the air like this.

They agree that the problem exists but do not know what it is!!

Anyone with an idea on how to get an answer to this?

Could you please elaborate on how to do that? And what makes you so sure that is in fact the case? The reason I ask is that this yellow symbol is identical to the fog light symbol that is located on the headlight control dial on the left of the steering wheel. So I was under the assumption it has something to do with those.

Thanks.

This warning is called "Dipped Headlight" and well known in the Audi Community.
It is triggered by deffective OEM main bulbs. You just need to replace them

I'd respectfully disagree.
I had a dipped headlight problem before on both of my headlights. Both were replaced by Audi under warranty. When those would go off there would be a message that would say dipped headlight or something along these lines.
In this particular case there is no message at all. The only thing on the dash is the blinking yellow image thoroughly described and depicted in by JMBonn in the beginning of this thread

Thanks.

While I absolutely agree with the link you posted here (I personally had this problem and luckily it was fixed by Audi dealer in multiple iteration steps) what JMBonn described and what I had happen to me once is not it.

Differences:
  • different yellow warning symbols on dash
  • in case of dipped headlight problem the following message shows up on the dash - "left dipped headlight" or "right dipped headlight" where as there is no message on the dash.

The warning symbol we get:

Dipped headlight warning symbol:

Sorry for the poor image, that's the best I could find.

Hope that explains it better .

I just refilled mine and solved the problem on my B5.

The warning seems to be similar to this one - ; in which, it is the "Dynamic Headlight Range Control Faulty". Like said in previous page, it could be the auto leveler on the headlights. Do you have the Xenon package?
