Default Brake Wear/CPO Question

Bought my daughter a certified 2006 A4 2.0T in March of this year with 32,000 miles. Today the check engine light came and stayed on so I took it to the dealer who replaced the fuel pressure sensor for free. While I was there the service advisor said my rear brake pads and rotors needed replacing. Question is this. The car currently has 37,000 miles. Question is this. When I bought the car 5000 miles ago it had to pass the 300 point inspection which said that the pads were just over the minimum of 7mm. Is it reasonable that the pads would be worn enough with 5000 subsequent miles (minimal highway and careful braking) to warrant replacing or should I complain to the dealer and /or Audi USA?

Rear brakes should last about 70K plus. I would complain as to why you would even need tham at all. I bet they are fine.

Thanks, guess my real question was whether it is reasonable that they would need to be replaced 5000 miles after being CPO certified at 7mm with no subsequent aggressive driving?
