Default Brake Dust

I have a 2007 2.0T S-line w/ titanium package and was very frustrated with how much brake dust went on the rims. I would clean them (all 15 or so spokes on each wheel) and they would be dirty again in a day or two. Very tedious and very frustrating.

Well, I went and bought Akebono Ceramic pads and let me tell you, what a difference. Now the rims stay clean for weeks.

If you are having the same frustrations that I was experiencing I would definitely recommend getting some ceramic pads, they make a world of difference and well worth the extra $$$.

Good to know. My wife brakes hard and I can tell when she's been driving my car because the front wheels are dark gray after only a week!

Fortunately, I have the 5-spoke wheels, so they're not too hard to clean. There's an automatic drive-thru wash near here that actually does a really good job on them (as long as it's not baked on).

Default 2007 2.0T S-line w/ titanium package and brake dust

I have a 2008 2.0T S-line w/ titanium package and I'm surprised by how much brake dust accumulates on the wheels, too. I will need to replace the brake pads in about 5000 more miles and was considering going to ceramic pads. Thanks for the good experience review

Great to hear there is a good pad solution out there.

My wife's new Q5 just dumps the dust all over the wheels. I had her ask the dealer about it. Their reply was that there was "tar on the wheels". I can't wait till I go to the stealer next time and rip someone's head off!

You would think by now Audi would have solved the brake pad issue...

I have this really nice clean Audi, interior is perfect, wax is as thick as can be...

... but my front wheels are covered in brake dust pretty much the same day.
