Audi A4 B7 Cold Air/Econ ON all the time? Please help :o(
Hello everyone,
I have an Audi A4 B7 S-Line 2007 2TDi 28k miles. Bought it nearly 11 months ago as a damaged repaired catd car, front end.
Never had any problems with it until recently. Had a bit of welding done underneath the car front end. The radiater had to be removed to have this done, but now 2 problems are incurring:
After the welding was done, when the car used to start in the morning and the temp was low, warm air used to come out first, then as the temp went high the air became colder and colder.
I took it back to garage, they did a few things with the cables/wires at the front end, but now the air is just cold, freezing cold, no warm air is coming at startup.
The garage (amateurs) said they fixed everything back as it was, which I dont believe, but to avoid any arguments I havent gone back there, its been a couple of weeks now.
Only once when I drove approx 20 miles the temperature went over the halfway mark (+95).
Can anyone more experienced shed some more light on this please? I dont know much about cars, so bare with me if tech words are used.

its hard to say consdering the accident and repair that was done. Your going to need to have that a/c module scanned for faults.
But shooting from the hip. Sounds like air in the cooling system that needs to be bled, Also sounds like your freon level is too low from undercharge or you have a leak.
Assuming there is no electric fault the default from low charge is being stuck in ECON

Bite the bullet and take your car to your local Audi Dealer. Any faults that have occurred or that are present will be detected when they perform their diagnostics. Plus, they only work on Audi's, have probably encountered every type of problem known to these vehicles and have access to all the recalls and software updates from the factory.
An inspection shouldn't cost you more than $100, then you can take the car to your favorite mechanic.
