Hi all. I just bought an 05.5 A4 2.0 quattro with the sports package. After a little bit of online research i found that a good place to start upgrading performance would be a chip. First off though, what does a chip do? Also does anyone have any suggestions for a good chip that is not going to cost me an arm and a leg? Thanks

have it re mapped it will get you 170 ish bhp without detection as they go through your ecu, about £300- 350, just google re map in your area and you will find a mobile one or sevices in your area, hope this helps, maz.

That's correct.

 

an ECU reflash (aka chip) will make the tune more agressive. the german turbo driven cars come from the factory with moderate tuning. for example, the air to fuel ratio and boost pressures are liberal. the reflash increases boost and leans the tune out a little to produce more power.

 

I haven't found any in the states that offer this. I've found a few in the UK though.
