I am torn between deciding between 2008 A4 avant and 320d touring. I was originally up for buying a4 avant but got swayed by bmw's better fuel consumption due to efficient dynamics?

Can please somebody pleaseshed some light on whether there is actuaaly much differnce in fuel consumption and pros and cons of both cars

Well both are great cars. The A4 (B7) comes with 140 or 170hp 2.0TDI, the BMW 320D has 163hp. Fuel consumption is better on the BMW. Also the 320D is newer than the older A4 B7 model (if that is the one you are referring to).

Performance wise both are about the same (A4 170hp vs 163hp BMW). Audi Front wheel drive, BMW rear wheel drive. I guess it depends on your preference. If you live where there is lots of snow, you might want to check the A4 Quattro's out, BMW has the X-trac (drive?) but as far as I know it is not as good as the Quattro system.

I would test drive both to get a better feel and impression. I would be more biased towards the A4 Quattro (140hp) maybe in Sline packaging.

Which ever model you decide on get a guarantee, these cars can get expensive if something breaks!
