08, A4 Whistle As You Go
Hey guys! I'm new to the forum but thought I'd post this up for some feedback as well as help others who may experience this issue.
My car is an 08, A4 2.0 T - S Line. 32k miles
About 5 days ago I noticed that the car started to idle a little rough. I didn't think anything of it. I drove about 35 miles to a friends house and when I arrived I noticed a loud whistling sound coming from the engine bay. As soon as I turned the car off I could hear the whistle die down, almost as if the car was running our of breath. I also noticed prior to this that my car was burning a little oil faster than normal.
Anyway, I took it in to Audi. Turns out it was the damn crank case breather/vent valve. The mechanic said it was a common problem. But when searching online I could barely find anything on this issue. They replace the valve and a few hoses and the car runs like new again.
My question is this, does anyone recommend a better after market valve? I'm afraid the damn thing is going to go bad again!

that's the PCV valve. it's talked about alot here. BSH tuning sells a "bullet proof" version.
