Vacuum Lines

Vacuum Lines
Sooner or later I want to change some of the vacuum lines on my 2003 a4 1.8t avant. The car seems to run a little rough at idle and maybe this could be the problem. It's not bad enough for it to bother me too much but I do want to get to it at least by this summer. I have a 1994 bmw 318i and that was an easy engine to work on so changing the vac lines were not hard but on my audi it seems like i may have to take some stuff out of the way to even get at them. Are there any specific problem lines that usually go first and is there any diagrams out there showing exactly were the lines are located on the engine? On a side note I also have some plans for the car this summer. I don't really want to spend money on new wheels so I'm probably going to paint them either silver (matching the car) or a glossy black. We painted the one's on the bmw the same color as the car and they look sweet. We first primed them and sealed them heavily and then put the base coat and clear coat over that. I pretty sure I'm going to paint the brake calibers too, probably red and I really want to put a glossy black stripe on the side of the car. Any ideas or suggestions?

All of the vacuum lines under the intake probably need to be replaced. Some of the hose have to be heated together tho. Rough job. I cab send you a diagram that I have that may give you an idea of where the hoses are and where the problem-child valves are. Email me if you want it.

u just need to find where the actaul vaccume leak is. No need in ordering 100 dollars worth of hose just to replace a small crack. check this diagram and inspect the lines throughly. if u cant find it still turn the car on and open your hood and listen for a loud hissing noise.
