Upgraded turbo questions/issues

So part of the intake filter ended up in the turbo hose? I sure hope nothing got far enough to cause any damage to the turbo. You might want to pull the turbo hose off and check the blades for damage.
If the filter is damaged then you might want to remove it and install another one or put your stock box back in.

That leads to a thought, besides the turbo being damaged. It's possible if part of the air filter is damaged it's only allowing a small amount of air in creating the whistle you hear.
Btw you should always be running your car at 91 octane

It could, but it sounds like the whistle might be coming from a damaged blade. You might want to get in there and look at it.
91 on my car? LOL, its has been around 4-5 years since my car has seen 91 in the tank. Since then it has been nothing but 110 and most of last yeare it was Q16(oxygenated 117 octane).

Sweet fancy crap! I didn't even know such a thing as Q16 existed, and IIRC even 100 octane race gas is like $6/gallon or more - how much does this crazy über-fuel you're running cost?

im constantly running 93 octane. i wish i knew more about tearing my car appart i would get in there and find out. if i had a beater it would help then i could spend some time with it.
as far as something bending a blad the turbo has made a loud whine since the time it was driven installed. im sure if something got sucked in there i would of noticed.
