Upgraded turbo questions/issues
So i just got a new turbo kit from ecs the exact kit is
http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B6_A4-.../Turbo/ES6291/
the car runs like a rape date now when the computer is set to the specific mode.
One thing i am wondering is if anyone out there has this same kit? The turbo whine to me seems to be wrong. maybe i am just being over cautious but when i jump on it and say im driving by a gas station the turbo whine is loud enough to make everyone pumping their gas to stop dumbfounded as to wether my car is about to explode or is just that ba. i have a boost guage from podi which is amazing. the noise is loud enough to hear in the car as well i have included a short video of the noise and boost guage. any help would be much appreciated.

I have a k04 upgrade, just without the same tuning as you.
Here are the issues I ran into. First off, I haven't had a little whistle like that, though the turbo is louder, in terms that I can just hear it more.
I would triple check your vacuum lines, air, and exhaust. I had issues with hoses tearing because of the extra pressure, and the hoses being so old. All of the hose problems were before my intercooler.
One other thing I would look into is your DV. I noticed your boost dropping as your were gaining RPMs(that's what it looked like any way). That could mean your car isn't holding pressure it should.
Meaning you're DV is opening to soon and allowing boosted pressure to escape when you don't want it to. I don't know if you have upgraded your DV, but even if that isn't your problem I would still recommend doing that any way. The stock Bosch DV isn't exactly designed to handle higher boost pressures.

Well just installed a new Forge DV and no change. still loud *** whine. i did notice how terrible the rubber grommets are on my AFE intake though they are rotting i had one break in half and had to disconnect the turbo inlet house to get it out. have attempted for weeks to get in touch with them with no response at all. terrible customer service.. my secondary air induction pump could that be a possibility.?

What is the "specific mode" that makes it sound like this?
I am assuming that you don't hear this when it is not on the mode?
The pump shouldn't really have much to do with it. It wouldn't make sense to me to only hear it occasionally. Then again I am no mechanic.
And I am assuming you mean trying to get in touch with ECS. I've always had good luck getting in touch with them. And they are actually fairly knowledgeable people....e-mails always worked the best for me. Though some times there were a couple days of waiting.
It just really sounds like a leak man. Or possibly a faulty waste gate, maybe it's not staying closed....I'm stumped.

the specific mode i am referring to is the different octane settings which changes the boost pressure's. it does make the noise even on stock boost levels it just is not as loud when you switch it to the 91,or 93 octane settings the noise does get loud.

So part of the intake filter ended up in the turbo hose? I sure hope nothing got far enough to cause any damage to the turbo. You might want to pull the turbo hose off and check the blades for damage.
If the filter is damaged then you might want to remove it and install another one or put your stock box back in.
