Default Turbonetics turbo anyone ?

I drive a 2002 a4 quattro. Was planning to get the k04 upgrade from ecs but i happened to be looking around on ebay and saw this kit.

Golf Jetta Beetle A4 TT 1.8T DOHC T04E T3 T3/T4 Turbo Kit W/ Turbonetics Turbo | eBay

Basically i wouldn't have to piece it together once i bought the kit ecs i would still have to get front mount, and many other things. I'm just wondering about the quality of the kit not wanting to overboot due to a horrible kit. Any insight would be appreciated. Oh yeah one more thing i was also wondering i may build a 1.8t from the bottom end up is there a specific block that comes with forged crankshaft? I can worry about the rods and pistons.

I would think everything besides the turbo is fine. When it comes to turbos the cheap stuff doesn't last. You would be wasting your money on turbos and labor with the cheap stuff. Luckily a turbo swap isnt too bad to do on a 1.8 unlike the 2.7 which requires an engine pull.

turbonetics is not ebay brand. it is a reputable brand. look online about them there are loads of information about them. the turbo alone(BNIB) is around $1k.
if this was ebay brand that price would be about $5-700
ebay brand is like turbo xs and ssautochrome.. those turbos are hit or miss.

the things id worry about in the kit is pipe fitment of the intercooler piping and the bov... do not use it as your car will run like ****. and it does look like ebay brand bov(may fail and stick open or stay closed.

A vented bov. I suppose this matters if the car is stock turbo. If it was non turbo and you adding the kit with some other kind of engine management it would be fine.

Or get a hybrid diverter valve if you want the sound
