I ended up getting Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, it seems pricey but after factoring in the fact that it's expected to last almost twice as long as other sport tires I think it's a good investment. By the way, my old tires were somewhat more worn on the outsides than inside. I'm not sure if that could be an alignment problem or simply due to underinflation. Is there any easy way to check if I have alignment issues or should I go to the mechanic? Thanks.

Take it in somewhere and get a lifetime alignment. Then you're good for as long as you ownt he car and that shop is in business...take it in every week if you want, no extra charge.

If your tires were underinflated you'd probably notice both shoulders were worn, not just the outside. Get it checked before you mess up your expensive new tires.

Most places I asked around here don't do alignments on a Quattro, and ones that do didn't seem very reputable. I took it to the stealership, they told me it would be $100 to check if it needs an alignment, and $214 to actually do one afterwards. I told them to just do one without checking, seems way too high to me though.

i would say get these i had the older version on my B6 Audi A4. i've had these sytle of tires on my car for about 3 years. i had stock tires which sucked then my bro traded in his evo and gave me his all seasons which were 235/45/17 continetals and let me tell u they work great. in the snow they are awesome. i've recently bought a new pair last year and am currently going thru chicago snow weather and let me tell u i can drive like a bat outta hell while everyone else is super slow. these tires have gotten me outta a ditch and i've gone thru a field of 2 feet snow in my car and these tires grip and push thru. my advice dont ever try going thru 2 feet of snow unless u got good tire. i've drove about 40,000 miles on these tires and they are highly great
I put these tires on my wife's A4 before the winter. Great tires, highly recommended.
