Timing Belt Time - Should I Replace the Crank/Cam Seals?
It is getting time to replace my timing belt (2005 1.8T Quattro) and I am looking at a package from ECS Tuning. I understand replacing the water pump and tensioner however they also have a kit to replace the crankshaft seal and camshaft seal. Are these necessary and how much more work is involved? Am I looking at potential problems to replace them if the seals are okay?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Cam and Crank seals are EASY to replace once you get to them. If you already have the engine apart, you might as well change them. Otherwise if they go bad, you have to tear the entire engine down again. I always change seals while if I'm working on something that involves the same work.
