#11
yeah, I know it sound crazy. I bought the car with 52K, It was owned by an older person. and I know if I wait for the belt to snap its gonna cost me me in repairs, but since down here in Miami there isn't to many pro shop for AUDI so i am trying to get an average cost for the job so I can plan for it budget wise..... And the clutch should be next....

I got that class action suit in the mail so i had mine checked at 85k (02 1.8t quattro man) at the dealership and they said it was fine.
so is it recommended or necessary to change it right now?? i just spent a grip for a coolant leak and parts(pretty sure i got over charged for parts), fluid and filters replaced, and a new cat
im ready to sell it. i was looking to upgrade the engine not fix plus my window just broke and wont go up only down

Wow, if it's never been done my next drive would be straight to a Euro shop for the timing belt to be changed. The job should include tensioner, roller, acc belt, timing belt, metal impeller water pump, G12 coolant, uhh...... I can't recall anything else.
A Euro shop could be $650 - $800 for a 1.8t. The dealership is over $1k and as high as $1.5k. A 3.0 is (much) higher if I'm not mistaken.
I think if you're good with maintenance it's TB at 75k then again at like 130k.
