Default Time for new tires - recommendations?

I'm going to need new tires in the next 1000 miles or so, which conveniently works out to just long enough before the arrival of winter to get the new ones broken in.

I'm waffling between Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS and Continental Extreme Contact DWS. I live in MN and separate snow/summer tires are not in the budget, so all seasons are a must. The Bridgestones have been good on my GF's car, but the Continentals get somewhat better reviews, have a better treadlife rating, and are a bit cheaper. Any input is welcome, including recommendations for other tires I may not have considered.

tire brand **** is weird....Continental? that used to be some cheap assed **** that came "stock" then dealers used to skimp on it...in fact, dealers used to swap out the factory tire and replace with Continental, then sell the factory tires on the side.....now they getting all the best perfomance reviews????

nope.

you don't want summer performance tires?, put Pirelli on your audi and be done with it.

I got Michelin tires on my audi wheels... Paid $118 for one. They are nice and not that noisy. You can find good and cheap tires online for 20-30% less money than anyone tires shop.

I put Michelin tires on my Audi and it has made a big difference. The tires work well in all seasons. I have tried lots of other brands and I am sticking with Michelin.

Default Replacement Tires

Put Yokohama Advan S4 on 2004 A4 Q 1.8T. Very happy.

Default Tires

Pirelli P zero's are the best way to go with any performance car. Do not be cheap and buy a lower line of Pirelli. And in the long run seperate winter and summer tires and rims saves a LOT OF $
