Stealth Sub for B6

Stealth Sub for B6
Hi Guys,
I am on the hunt for a subwoofer for my system. I have got rid of the standard speakers + stereo and replaced it with a Pioneer HU with 2 x Focal speakers and left the rear 2 speakers as standard.
I have an amp (Inphase IPA2041) in the trunk and want a sub. I have been looking at stealth box's that go in the trunk near the tail light. As i'm in the UK if I can't source a enclosure then I might look to make one, as there is ample guides out there.
My question is though what size of sub would I be looking to get to comfortably fit ? 10" or 12 " ? My knowledge in this field is very limited, but I do i need to have certain volumes for different sizes speakers.
I was looking at Alpine Type R subs as they are/were good from what I could read up on.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
S

well for that box their are plans on the net. I think a4mods.com has them. I wouldnt throw any more then a 10 in there as those 12's love to breath! i have two of those in a seperate ported box and they are extremly loud. MY windows will shake fairly bad when cranked so that gives u an idea cuz these cars are built like tanks and to make the window shake u got alot of air moving thru the cabin. overall just make sure your amp can supply ample amount of power or your sub will suck!

Thanks for the info!
My sub has ample power so I dont think that will be an issue, although I do have a Genesis amp lying in the house too!
So I think 10" sub seems the best choice here, any suggestions as to what are good subs to use ? or what to look for when hunting for one ?
Thanks

i think u misunderstood me. The sub can be any power you want. ITs the amp that has to match the power of the sub. Well the rms of the sub to be exact. unless u had a mistype which i will say disregard my last statement. what type of amp do u have? Is it 4 channel 2 channel mono? How many watts is it? That will determine how much of a sub u can run.

You're right there, I was looking at either a 4 ohm or a 2 ohm speaker.
I seem to have my eye on the 10 " JL 10w3 at the moment, reviews that I have read show them to be really good and seems to take fewer cubic feet space for the enclosure however still not discounted the Alpine Type R's yet.
Any recommendations for which subs to look at for the B6 other than above ? Budget is around £200 max.
