Hey Bros and Sis,


I have an Audi 2004 1.8 t. My check engine light was on and I checked with a mechanic and they checked the codes and it came back as a speed sensor problem with the transmission. They said its a common problem with audi's but it would cost 1300 for the part. Now my car has been vibrating slightly when driving and more when idle. Has anyone had this issue or know anything about it? Would love some feedback!

 

$1,300.00?? For a sensor? I can purchase a speed sensor for $38.00, maybe take the car to someone else?

 

uh yeah that's a lil ridiculous for a sensor. The sensor should only cost about 40 dollars max.

 

Spend the $100 and DIY it.

Hi, I have a 1998 A4 that has a similar transmission problem. The VAG code is P0717 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circ No Signal

I want to know if I need to get a new sensor and where I could purchase this.
