Hi Guys,

I have a standard head unit fitted to my 2004 A4 and I am looking to upgrade the HU along with the speakers + amp.

The HU I will be fitting is a single din Pioneer 8400BT. I already have this as it was in my old Lexus before it decided to meet 2 walls.

While i'm there, I thought I would change the speakers too. I am not really wanting to add a Sub to the car, so I was looking at some decent mid range speakers that will take that need away. Beside I am not wanting to blare music so people can hear me coming 50 miles away. I prefer clarity and clear sounds.

I have narrowed my speaker selection to :

I have not yet decided on the Amp yet - so your input is most welcome. However what I wanted to know is what do you guys have in your A4's, and do you feel its adequate ? I believe the speakers currently are around 6.5", so although may require a spacer, it will fit. Are there limitations to the size of the speakers (particularly the thickness to go under the door sills) ?

What are your thoughts ? I was planning on replacing both front & the rear door speakers ( all 4 in total) so they all do run in unison - is this worthwhile doing ?
