sound system question
Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me if the front speakers in an SE model a4 should be amplified? I have an aftermarket stereo fitted, but only the rear speakers are amplified. The fronts are way quieter than the rear. There's some sort of circuit board wired to the loom also. I think it has to do with the amplifier. It's a real mess in there.
If anyone can shed any light on the situation I'd be grateful.
Thanks, Paul..

If its a bose system all speakers are amplified. (speaker grills say Bose)
If not.... I'm almost 100 percent sure the only amplification comes from the stereo.
Those circuit boards could be crossovers. Previous owner could have had a intrique stereo system. I wonder if just cutting them out would solve your problem

hi there,
its not the bose system, so i think it must be the concert setup i have. i took out the radio to take a few pics today,i think the problem might be a loose connection somewhere because the bass came back when i was fiddling with the wires. the tweeters seemed to be working all the time but the other lower ones weren't. i took pics to show you the mess! i wonder could it be tidied up?! Thanks for your response. Pics below, what do you think the circuit board thing is?
This is the mess behind the radio!!
This is the circuit board?!
This is what's inside it. What could it be???
